Quarterly Action Center Data
MOAA’s Government Relations Department and Affiliated Councils and Chapters Department are excited to introduce a new quarterly report comprised of data from the Legislative Action Center. You will now be able to see how many people in your Council and/or Chapter have registered for the Legislative Action Center and how many letters they are sending to their Members of Congress.
This report will be available on this website on a quarterly basis:
- January-March will be posted in mid-April
- April-June will be posted in mid-July
- July-September will be posted in mid-October
- October-December will be posted in mid-January
For a report on 2024 Legislative Action Center engagements (through Sept. 30), click here (PDF download).
We will also do a special report centered around Advocacy in Action, which will be available two to three weeks after the event.
Please reach out with any questions at msc@moaa.org.
Advocacy in Action 2024 Information
Team Leaders are responsible for ensuring contact with every Member of Congress in their state. For states with more than one team, the Team Leader should work with the teams in their state to divide the Members of Congress office visits up between them.
Teams should start contacting Congressional offices to schedule meetings as soon as possible. Refer to the Suggested Letter for Congressional Appointments and the Congressional Schedulers spreadsheet for a template email and contact information.
NOTE: MOAA HQ may assign a MOAA HQ Staff member, Board of Directors member, or an Advisory Council member to each AiA team, based on availability. Experience has shown pairing state leadership constituents with Board members or a MOAA National Staff/Committee Adviser offers an important “force multiplier” effect.

Participating Teams & Congressional Staffer Lists
Have you been identified as a participant in this year's Advocacy in Action events or need to request consideration for someone else? Please contact us and include full name and MOAA member number to request access to the lists of participating teams and congressional staffers. MOAA Staff will be able to look up member email addresses to provide access. These files contain sensitive personal contact information, so please DO NOT share or forward once you gain access—request individual access for yourself or others.
Prepare for Action
These planning documents contain essential information to help you get ready for your meetings with legislators and their congressional staff. They provide detailed insights and practical tips to ensure you are well-prepared to effectively communicate the objectives and priorities of MOAA's annual fly-in event.
How to Document Your Appointments
MOAA's government relations team frequently meets with lawmakers and their staffers, and we understand the importance of your interactions with them too. We recognize the effort it takes to schedule these meetings, which is why our action center includes a tool for reporting your engagements with elected officials. Whether you've successfully scheduled a meeting or encountered challenges in doing so, your input is invaluable. Please use this tool to report all interactions, including details about your scheduling efforts.
