Women veterans may not realize they have a chance to get a head start on their post-uniform civic leadership and engagement plans – and not just by networking or practicing an elevator pitch.

MOAA recently partnered with Marjorie K. Eastman, a fellow of The Policy Circle (TPC) and a MOAA Premium Member, for an information-packed webinar outlining TPC’s many helpful resources. Eastman shared key insights into this little-known program that can aid your civic leadership engagement aspirations. TPC is a nonpartisan nonprofit focused on informing, equipping, and connecting women to be more impactful citizens.

If you missed the webinar, click here to register and receive a link to the recording. This webinar was unique in that it was filled with various QR codes that directly connected participants to 65 TPC Policy Briefs on various and timely topics, which have more than 235,000 combined views.

Beyond providing access to the free resource of the policy briefs, the webinar covered a range of information about TPC and its three Paths of Engagement, including:

Eastman discussed what makes up CLER, including its 2023 focused outreach for women connected to the military community (veterans, spouses, and family members). She also covered how to apply for CLER, how participants benefit from the program, and what participants can expect from the three CLER Courses covering founding principles and local government, state and federal government, and education.

“Because of TPC, I have a broader network of engaged women and access to resources I didn't have previously,” said one participant in the 2022 CLER education cohort. “Because of CLER, I am more confident and energized to run for office and be a bigger force for change.”

The Policy Circle’s Summer CLER Cohort deadline is May 18; enroll today at this link.
