She’s a first lieutenant in the Army and a world-renowned skeet shooter.
Now, Amber English will be competing in the sports’ world biggest arena – the Summer Olympics.
“You can definitely feel the pressure mounting, but it is very exciting,” English said in an interview with Military Officer. “It is very exciting.”

English, a native of Colorado, was a full-time resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs before she decided to join the Army in 2017. She competed for a spot on Team USA in 2012 and 2016 but came up short.
She earned a spot on the 2020 Olympic team, but was disappointed when the COVID-19 pandemic delayed her opportunity to compete. Finally, she’ll be representing the U.S. in the women’s shotgun skeet event in Tokyo on July 25-26.
