No matter your industry or your experience level, MOAA’s three-part seminar will offer advice and recommendations for career transition to help you begin (or continue) your journey of professional success.

 

Join career transition specialist Capt. Pat L. Williams, USN (Ret), MOAA’s program director for engagement and career transition services, as she helps you develop and hone your transition skills in three critical areas: networking, résumé writing, and interviewing.

 

These classes will reveal and explain transition tips and tools designed to bring you closer to your dream job: the one that makes you leap out of bed and race into morning rush hour, ready to begin another day. The one where you do what you love, are paid what you're worth, and enjoy making a difference.

 

Each one-hour seminar begins at noon Eastern:

  • Seminar I – Networking (Jan. 8): Up to 85% of job-seekers find their next job through networking … are your connections up to the challenge? Register now and get tips on mastering the art and science of networking, including how to tackle the powerful informational interview.

 

  • Seminar II – Résumé Writing (Jan. 15): An award-winning, eye-catching résumé is a MUST. Learn practical résumé-writing tips; find out how to write to influence others; and discover the best methods to showcase your skills, talent, and experience. Be ready to highlight how and why you are the best candidate for the job.

 

  • Seminar III – Interviewing (Jan 22): After utilizing your network and submitting a polished résumé, you get the call: “We’d like you to come in for an interview.” This is your opportunity to shine – to tell your unique professional story. Let MOAA show you how to get interview-ready.

 

While this three-part series is best experienced in sequence and in its entirety, you are welcome to attend any module. Whether or not you attend live, you will receive a link to a recording of all sessions for which you've registered.

 

Register for any individual session for $25, or attend all three at a reduced cost:

  • $65 for BASIC and non-members

 

Résumé review costs average between $200 to more than $400. Add another $150 per hour for interview coaching, on average, plus the value of networking consultations, and your costs could easily reach $650 for such a seminar.
