Col. David Rowland, USA, is a seasoned Army infantry officer with a rich background encompassing conventional, special operations, and security force assistance roles. He is the author of Green Light, Go! The Story of an Army Start Up. 
 
In 2019, Dave was handpicked by the Army to spearhead the development, recruitment, training, and deployment of one of its newest units. He successfully built the unit from the ground up, conducted comprehensive training, and established crucial relationships, which culminated in deploying to 11 diverse Indo-Pacific countries in under 18 months.
 
Rowland took over as the 84th commander of the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment ("The Old Guard") in 2022, his final assignment before leaving service.
