Veterans always have been drawn to the franchise business model, and franchisers have long recognized entrepreneurial veterans are some of the best qualified, motivated, and successful prospective franchisees out there. Even though veterans account for about 7% of the population, 14% of franchisees are vets. Veteran franchisees are more likely to hire veterans as employees, and 65% of franchisers say their rate of hiring veterans has increased in recent years.
Is entrepreneurship, or owning a business, right for you? Are you a transitioning servicemember, military spouse, or veteran looking at franchising but confused by the many business models and options?
Want trusted advice? MOAA has teamed with VetFran to help explain the unique match between the skills and aptitude found in the military/veteran community and the demands and opportunities of being a franchisee. We'll be joined by Eric C. Johnson, manager of veterans programs (VetFran) for the International Franchise Association Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit.
VetFran is the association's flagship initiative and serves as a bridge between the franchise community, our nation’s veterans, and partners in the public and private sector. Dating back to 1991, VetFran has been at the forefront of ensuring the franchise sector preserves its reputation as veteran-friendly and veteran-ready.
Be sure to join us Wednesday, April 13, at 2 p.m. Eastern for expert advice and insights on finding the right franchising fit and taking your small business ownership career to the next level!
MOAA Premium and Life members have access to all recorded MOAA webinars at any time via MOAA’s Webinar Archive. Want to join MOAA? See MOAA.org/join for details.
