Almost $1 billion has been invested in the apprenticeship system over the past five years, and the results have been remarkable.
With growth from a range of new industries — including IT, health care, transportation and advanced manufacturing — the number of apprentices has doubled to approximately 700,000. Work-based learning is now widely recognized as an effective way to provide apprentices with high-quality training that meets employer demand and can help transitioning servicemembers, military spouses, and veterans launch family-supporting careers.
But as COVID-19 spreads and the economic downturn continues, it is important to note that apprenticeships historically have declined during periods of uncertainty.
What industries and training programs are most at risk? Are there sectors that are switching to online instruction for upskilling? Which apprenticeship occupations are in higher demand as a result of the COVID-19 crisis?
Join a panel of subject-matter experts from FASTPORT, Jobs For The Future, and DOL VETS to learn where your best opportunities exist. These groups are focused on the importance of apprenticeship to the next generation of workers — plus our nation’s economic strength — and will be drawing attention to how you can play an important role in the recovery.
Can’t make it? No problem. Register now for the webinar and we’ll send you a link to the recording.
