Caregivers for servicemembers and veterans often neglect themselves as they work to support others, missing out on key support programs and becoming vulnerable to mental, physical, and financial stressors. A recent RAND study found:

  • Caregivers for those under 60 are four times as likely to meet the criteria for depression as non-caregivers.
  • Military and veteran caregivers pay more than $8,500 in annual out-of-pocket costs, on average, while passing up more than $4,500 in income to take care of loved ones.
  • Caregivers frequently do not take advantage of income-related support programs and have trouble finding emotional support programs.

MOAA and the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) want to highlight some of the resources available to this growing sector of the population – whether you’re a new or seasoned caregiver, you’ll benefit from this upcoming webinar.

WWP representatives will discuss what their organization can provide to caregivers, to include:

  • Assistance in accessing VA support programs.
  • WWP resources designed to link caregivers with services that meet their needs.
  • Alumni programs designed to create support networks for wounded warriors and their families.

Find out whether you’re eligible for these programs and many others, and how WWP can provide you with the support you need to remain at the side of your warrior.
