Stephanie is a member of the Stakeholder Engagement Group within the Office of the Ombudsman at Federal Student Aid (FSA). She serves as the Outreach Coordinator and focuses on expanding FSA’s reach to vulnerable student and borrower populations across the country with quality borrower education via in-person events and tailored virtual events. As a member of the Ombudsman's Office, she also leads borrower complaint resolution that results from outreach work.
Before working for FSA, Stephanie served as the state Student Loan Ombudsman for the state of Washington for three years. Working in collaboration with other state agencies, she received, tracked, and responded to all student loan debt complaints for student and parent borrowers in the state of Washington. Stephanie is a fierce student advocate with a background in financial aid and consumer protection. She has worked in higher education at the community college level as well as a nonprofit consumer protection agency where she counseled clients on student loan debt repayment issues. Stephanie has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Swarthmore College and an MPA from the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance at the University of Washington.
