First off, our thoughts and prayers are with all those affected by the recent events of Hurricane Harvey. I have contacted local council and chapter leaders in the area, and they still are assessing the needs of their members and their communities. Many of you have asked how you can help; this message from MOAA President and CEO Lt. Gen. Dana T. Atkins, USAF (Ret), offers more details on how to provide support.

The MOAA Annual Meeting will be held Oct. 23. This will be a scaled-down version of the annual meeting as there will not be a Levels of Excellence Award Dinner or a Chapter Roundtable. For more information, visit www.moaa.org/2017annualmeeting

Please note the update included in this issue regarding the USAA Sponsorship Program. After a successful 2017 campaign, we have exhausted the funds to support council and chapter events. We will open the application for 2018 submissions at the end of the year. Look for more information about the program in a future edition of The Affiliate.
