“I entered the U.S. Naval Academy in June, 1941, from the state of California. I graduated and was commissioned in June, 1944 as a member of the class of 1945. In 1946, I entered flight training and subsequently served in several fighter and attack squadrons. In 1950, I was selected to attend Naval Post Graduate training in Naval Intelligence. This was followed by several tours of duty in intelligence and stations in London and Naples, Italy.”

“In 1964, I retired from the Navy with the rank of Commander and commenced a second career in the computer profession. After two years in industry, I joined the Central Intelligence Agency, became Chief of the Special Studies Branch, and retired in 1980. In 1986, I lost my beloved wife Mickie (Dorothy L. Wood).”

“I am pleased to be able to contribute to the MOAA Scholarship [Fund] and congratulate the Association for establishing this very worthwhile project.”
