Lt. Col. Michael Bowers, USMC, enlisted into the Marine Corps in 1993 and after a stint in the infantry earned his commission in 1995. He has served on active duty since that time in a variety of staff and command assignments leading more than 7,500 Marines through his journey of serving Country and Corps. He has graduated as the Distinguished Graduate from the Marine Corps Command and Staff College, and with a master's degree in Strategic Studies from the Air Force's Air War College in 2015.
Since his commissioning, he has commanded Marines in garrison, combat, Marine Corps recruit training, and in the joint environment. He has also held key staff positions as the operations director and interagency coordinator for a joint task force in Washington D.C., strategic planner at Marine Forces Command, head of enlisted and officer plans for the Deputy Commandant for Manpower and Reserve Affairs, and as the administrative aide to the 75th Secretary of the Navy. His current assignment is the command executive officer for the headquarters element for the Marine Corps' Training and Education Command at Quantico, Virginia.
He is currently a Chapter President in Maryland and the state council's VP and transition chair.
