Rear Adm. Robert L. Greene, USN (Ret)

Rear Adm. Robert L. Greene, USN (Ret), is a 1982 graduate from the U.S. Naval Academy with a B.S. in electrical engineering. He became a certified Navy nuclear engineer and a licensed professional engineer, and received the director qualified credential from the American College of Corporate Directors.

Greene has held five command tours throughout his military career, of which 10 years were active duty and 25 years were in the reserve component, enabling him to have a concurrent private-sector career. Upon selection to rear admiral, he continued in his demanding private-sector capacity while also serving 120 active-duty days/year.

Leveraging his vast experience in both military and private-sector executive leadership roles, he has been an executive advisor in strategy, operating model design, and organizational development for multiple business line chief executives. As an energy executive, Greene served as chief executive officer of the University of Iowa Energy Collaborative, a partnership company created in the public-private partnership between UIOWA, ENGIE, and Meridiam, representing investors who endowed $1.2 billion to the university for a 50-year concession agreement. Greene had direct oversight, direction, and control of the campus utility infrastructure and energy capital investments.

Greene served as deputy commander, Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet and director, Interagency Partnering, European Command, where he applied a collaborative "whole of government" approach in interagency operations when informing the decision-making process addressing transnational threats, foreign fighter flow, illicit drug trafficking and other priority nefarious societal trends.
