Maj. Gen. Marti J. Bissell, USA (Ret)
Maj. Gen. Marti J. Bissell, USA (Ret), retired in February 2023 after 34 years of distinguished service in the Army. She received her bachelor’s in Business Administration-Accounting from Oregon State University and completed two master’s degrees, one from Gonzaga University in Organizational Leadership and one from the Army War College in Strategic Studies. 

 

Over the course of her career, she served in a variety of positions including commanding at the company, battalion, and brigade level as well as at NATO headquarters. Her assignments have taken her to such places as Korea, Germany, Jordan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kansas, and Virginia, along with multiple tours at the Pentagon. 

 

In addition to her military career, she also spent time as the Associate Director of Leadership Programs at the George C. Marshall Foundation and served in a variety of positions at the Virginia Military Institute.
