Mission

The purpose of the Roadrunner Chapter is to promote the goals and objectives of the Military Officers Association of America; foster fraternal relations among active, retired, and former officers of the uniformed services and the National Guard or Reserve components; protect the rights and interests of active and former officers and their dependents and survivors; and serve the military community with voluntary services and monetary donations as the chapter deems appropriate.

Information on Joining the Chapter

Membership in the Chapter is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses. Annual dues for membership in the Chapter are $20 for the period 1 January to 31 December. Contact Richard Goodyear, 505-983-3109, rgoodyear47@comcast.net to ask questions and obtain a membership form.

Chapter Activities

The Roadrunner Chapter holds 6 luncheons each year, featuring guest speakers on topics relevant to the members. A special picnic is held each August. The Board of Directors meets periodically to manage Chapter activities. The chapter supports the New Mexico Department of Veterans Services and local JROTC programs.

Legislative Issues

The Chapter supports the MOAA national legislative agenda, invites our national and state representatives to speak to the chapter, and lobbies with them on veterans issues. The chapter is also active in supporting the state council of MOAA chapters in various state veterans issues.
