Mission

The mission of the Chapter can be summarized in three words: Service, Camaraderie, and Advocacy. We seek to serve in our local communities, focusing on programs for young people planning to serve or who have served in our military, to come together periodically to enjoy the company of our fellow officers, and to support MOAA's national mission by advocating locally for a strong national defense.

Information on Joining the Chapter

For information on joining the Chapter, please contact the chapter President,  Patricia Wernet at pattywernet@hotmail.com

Chapter Activities

The Chapter supports local JROTC programs by providing scholarships to deserving, high performing midshipmen and cadets. Chapter members also support East Bay Stand-Down, an annual event that seeks to bring together homeless veterans with the community services available to help them. We meet monthly on the third Monday of the month (except July and August) at 5pm at the Veterans Memorial Building of San Ramon Valley, located at 400 Hartz Avenue in Danville.

Legislative Issues

The Chapter supports the national mission of MOAA by advocating for officers across their career and local JROTC programs in our county.  We are on a Trustee Board with 6 other VSOs for the Veteran Memorial Building in which we meet.  There are several activities a year in which all the VSOs join together.  We also have MOWW members join our meetings.

General Information

Our meetings are held at 5pm on the third Monday of the month (except July and August). Light appetizers are served, and we generally try to conclude in time for everyone to be home for dinner with their families. We will normally have a speaker of interest to the group at each meeting, and a also a member focus about the interests of our members. Our board generally meets at 4pm on the same day of the meeting. We encourage any member or prospective member who is interested in helping to lead any chapter activity of interest to join us for the board meeting.
