Mission

In addition to the usual mission of a MOAA Chapter to benefit the members of the uniformed services, their families and survivors and to advocate for a strong national defense, while providing needed support to the community and its members, our AABC actively participates in and supports local Memorial Day and Veterans Day activities. Our Chapter also supports University of Colorado ROTC programs, providing several scholarships each year to outstanding members of the Air Force, Army, Navy and Marine detachments.

Information on Joining the Chapter

Membership in the AABC is open to anyone who holds or has ever held a commission or warrant in any component of the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service, Space Force or National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and their surviving spouses. Please see our web site at http://www.moaa-aabc.org for specific information on joining our chapter.

Chapter Activities

AABC meetings are normally held the third Saturday of the month 0900 at Atonement Lutheran Church, 685 Inca Parkway, Boulder, CO 80303. Monthly Chapter activities include business/social meetings, breakfasts, as well as presentations of interest to our members. An annual picnic is held each July. December is the month for our special holiday luncheon. Quarterly, we participate in meetings of the Colorado Council of (MOAA) Chapters. The AABC operates a private email Message Board (https://groups.io/g/AABC-MOAA), maintains a web site athttp://www.moaa-aabc.org
and also publishes a periodic newsletter.  These tools help keep our members apprised of chapter affairs, upcoming events and important information.

Legislative Issues

AABC supports the MOAA national legislative agenda. The chapter is also active in supporting the state Council of chapters in various state legislative military and veterans' issues.

General Information

See the AABC web site at http://www.moaa-aabc.org for any additional information needed.

About Our Chapter

ADMIRAL ARLEIGH BURKE CHAPTER - Boulder, Colorado - Established 29 June 1972 over FIFTY EXCELLENT YEARS! The Admiral Arleigh Burke Chapter (AABC)was first chartered in 1972 as the Boulder Colorado County Chapter of The Retired Officers Association (TROA). The national organization changed its name to the Military Officers Association of America (MOAA) in 2003. Meanwhile, our Chapter name had been changed in 2001 in conjunction with the October Centennial of native son Admiral Burke's birth in Boulder and the dedication of his memorial park in the south part of Boulder. AABC currently has over 100 active members.
