TRICARE

TRICARE Standard

A fee-for-service program has annual deductibles and co-payments. TRICARE Standard has no enrollment fee, but it is the most costly option in terms of out-of-pocket expenses for beneficiaries who require regular care.

TRICARE Prime

TRICARE Prime is a health maintenance organization (HMO)-style plan and is the only option that requires an annual enrollment fee. Prime may also require the user to pay a co-payment.

TRICARE Prime Remote

TRICARE Prime Remote is for active duty servicemembers and their families who are on remote assignments, and are living and working 50 miles from the nearest Military Treatment Facility.

TRICARE For Life (TFL)

TRICARE For Life (TFL) is medical coverage for beneficiaries entitled to Medicare over age 65, or under age 65 and disabled.

TRICARE Reserve Select

TRICARE Reserve Select gives the option to purchase TRICARE health coverage for Guard/Reserve members and their families.
