TRICARE Retiree Dental
Military retirees and their family members and survivors are eligible to buy coverage under the TRICARE Retiree Dental Program (TRDP). If enrolled within 120-days of retirement, the 12-month waiting period for crowns, onlays, bridges, partial or full dentures, and orthodontics is waived. If the veteran is declared 100-percent permanently and totally disabled by the VA, he or she does not have to enroll in TRDP, but he or she will have to provide proof from the VA he or she has dental care through the VA.
The program is administered under a TRICARE contract with Delta Dental.
